Description

Coordinated activities are provided to students to teach the knowledge and skills needed for post-school activities. This can include such things as employment, further education, community experiences or living on your own.


Additional Information

Helps students and young adults to gain knowledge and the skills they need to live independently


Training is provided at area schools, offices, consumers' homes, or the community.


Services include:
* Skills training - individual and group
* Educational workshops and classes
* Parent and student advocacy
* Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and support
* Independent Living Assessments


Students and young adults will gain:
* An understanding of how to access and direct community supports
* The ability to make informed choices and understand their consequences
* An understanding of their rights and self-representation skills
* A positive disability identity
* Independent living skills
